On 9 April 1970, a De Havilland DH.104 Dove 8 crashed while attempting to land at Pendeford Airfield in poor weather, killing both crew members and one person on the ground. After multiple failed landing attempts, the aircraft struck a house and was destroyed—could this tragedy have been avoided with better weather assessment or decision-making?
